Saving Methods

Shopping With Loyalty Cards – Part 1

I am all for saving money where and when I can. We have already covered some bargain places to shop, some great cashback sites, and vouchers and discount codes. But if you love to shop at certain stores who have no discount codes, then why not look into loyalty cards? Hey, if you’re going to spend your hard-earned money, you may as well get rewarded for it!

Tesco Clubcard

Tesco Clubcard points are widely used, and widely spendable. You have two main ways you can use them. You could use them as voucher discounts to spend in store. This way, your points will be given a cash value. You gain a point for every £1 you spend in Tesco, and each point is worth 1p, meaning 250 points would be equivalent to £2.50 in vouchers to spend in store. Or, you could get even bigger savings by spending with Reward Partners, where they will be worth more. With certain companies, including but definitely not limited to Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, Prezzo, Legoland, Now TV, and Hoseasons, every £5 in vouchers can be redeemed for £15 in vouchers to spend! Definitely worth checking out.

Co-op Membership

For your every day grocery shopping, why not check out one of these? Co-op Membership users can join for £1, and gain discounts on Co-op branded goods; as well as being eligible for certain offers. You also get to know you are supporting local causes, with 1% of your spend on Co-op goods going to support them.

Boots Advantage Card

One of my first cards I ever got, and at the tender age of 13 I felt like such an adult using! Collecting 4 points per £1 you spend in Boots, you can also gain extra points for things like downloading the Boots app, signing up for emails, and you can get personalised special offers sent to you, to earn extra points on your favourite products. Each point is worth 1p, so it won’t take you too long until you have points to spend!

Loyalty cards

Starbucks

Starbucks loyalty cards have two levels, green and gold. Green is for the basic members, earning a free drink for every 15 stars you earn, earning a star every time you use your loyalty card or app. Once you have made 50 transactions in 12 consecutive months, your account will be upgraded to Gold Level, where you can also enjoy free select syrups, extra expresso shots, whipped cream on your drinks, and free non-dairy alternatives. Collect another 50 stars within the next 12 months to keep your Gold Level membership.

Nandos

Fancy a free Nandos? Then get a loyalty card!! Earn a Chilli Point on every order of over £7 or more. There are 3 levels to rewards; Green, Orange and Red. Gain a Green reward after 3 Chilli Points, an Orange reward after 6 Chilli Points and a Red Reward after 10 Chilli Points.  Be aware, your rewards expire after one year so make sure you use them before you lose them!
