Ways To Gain Money, Without Spending A Penny

Have you ever heard the saying: One mans junk is another mans treasure? Of course you have. But how many of you have actually tested the theory?

Lets try another question. How many of you have brought something, whether it be clothes, shoes, kitchen accessories or DVDs? Only for them to sit on the back of a shelf or hidden away in a cupboard, untouched?

Why not have a spring clean, and gain a bit of money too? Most people have items that they purchased, either on a whim, or just because, that subsequently are barely, if ever, used.

With a variety of ways to sell your wares, you really have no excuse to hold on to your belongings, and with the added bonus of some extra dough, it’s a great time to look different ways you can start.

Social Media

Social media is arguably the best way to sell your items. With a reach of your entire local area, and many sites on facebook set up to specifically sell items within a certain vicinity, selling on social media has never been easier. Fee free, quick and easy, you can put your items up for sale, either on your own profile, or on a specified marketplace, and reach thousands of potential buyers within minutes.

Selling Sites

Another great way to sell your items and gain money are specified selling sites, such as Ebay, Amazon and Etsy. Whilst you could potentially advertise on any and all sites, each site is more tailored to a general area. Etsy is typically aimed towards buying home made or vintage items. Ebay is more of an auction site, selling anything and everything, from bathtubs to yeast. Ebay also sells new and used items from sellers, to wholesale items from companies. Amazon is more of a retailer, with a fixed price and the ability to be a prime seller, where your stock is held at an amazon warehouse, for next day delivery. This is great if somehow you ended up with 50 new box sets that you wanted to sell.

Local Car Boot Sales

Now Covid 19 restrictions are lifting, we will soon be back to markets and car boot sales. Another great way to sell as they always attract an audience, but be prepared to haggle with prices, as bartering is common in this type of selling environment.

Selling Apps & Local Shops

Shpock is an app that is similar in theory to car boot sales, but online. You list your product, the category and desired price, and the listings will be in location or price order. With a modest start, it is gaining traction as it becomes more known. With options for free listings too, it’s still worth a punt. Local shops are also a fairly safe bet, with most having some sort of selling board – where you can list a product or service, normally for a small fee, which varies from shop to shop.

So there you have it – no matter what you have, to offer, you can find the perfect place to advertise and find it a new home! For other great money saving tips, why not check out how to improve your credit score.
