Lets Make 2021 A New Year to Remember!
This year will definitely be one to remember; but unfortunately, not for the right reasons. Any other year, most people would be planning their outfits for Thursday night; getting in the last of the booze, or making sure taxis are booked (for future reference; if you want a taxi on NYE, make sure they are booked by the beginning of December, or risk walking home!).
This year, most of us will be spending a quiet night in with our household; reflecting on the madness that was 2020. The silver lining, if you want to look for it? You won’t have to worry about a major hangover, or viral footage on socials Friday morning!
But when this is over – and at some point, it will be over – we are going to need to throw the biggest, best and brightest party man has ever known. On a budget, obvs – because that’s what we do best!
Food & Drink
No party is complete without the nibbles and booze! The great thing about party food is that you can be so inventive! From chucking a few pizzas and sausage rolls in the oven, to creating your own vol-au-vents, there are some great ways you can create budget friendly party food to excite all. Drinks are also easy to keep control on when it comes to budget. You could create a BOYB party – saving you money and hassle, or you could create cocktails – using lemonade to fill them out and make them go further. You could also buy in crates, boxes or even kegs – which works out at less money than a standard can or bottle.
Entertainment
Asides from music, there are plenty of ways to create good memories at your party, by going above and beyond for your entertainment. Create your own entertainment with some inventive games, or perhaps set up a games area – for people who want to play card games, or charades, or spoons! When it comes to music, get organised early! Create a playlist of tunes guaranteed to keep the party mood going, and don’t forget to chuck in plenty of classics and singalongs! If you don’t have a decent sound system, ask around – hopefully a friend or family member will be happy to lend you theirs!
Invites & Getting People to Come
Invites are all about getting in there early. Whenever we are allowed to socialise with more than just our goldfish, people are going to be busy. Plan your date well in advance, and get the invites out in plenty of time. You could also make your party more enticing by creating a theme, such as 1920s, black and white, or famous people. People love themed parties, and it will make it one to remember! These are easy to do on a budget; they just require you to get creative with some make up, and digging deep in your wardrobe!
Finally…
Not a money saving hack, but after the last year, a great life tip! Take plenty of photos and videos, to create lasting memories. Don’t be afraid to look stupid, have fun often and laugh lots.
