How To Spend Money To Save Money

Most people are great at spending money. But did you, there are ways to earn cashback on some of the money you spend on everyday items, as well as some of the bigger purchases you make? Well, I’m going to share with you how to do just that.

Online Shopping

How many of you do the majority of your shopping online? If you’re reading this, chances are you fall into his category. But did you know you can receive cashback, from mere pence to hundreds of pounds, by doing so?

Whether it’s your new phone contract, pizza hut takeaway, renewing your gas and electric suppliers, lawnmowers from Argos, eBay purchases and more, you could be eligible for cashback into your bank account.

Sites such as TopCashback will pay you money; either a fixed amount or a percentage, back to you, for simply making purchases through their website. It’s really simple; simply sign up to their site, and every time you do your online shopping, click onto their website or open their app, and carry on shopping as normal. The site then uses cookies to track what you’ve brought, and within a few weeks, you earn money. Simple!

High Street Shopping

The good news is, it’s not just online retailers that support this way of shopping. Some banks and credit cards have also cottoned onto this way of life, and are now also offering cashback when you shop. Again, this is usually a percentage, but it is still free money, and all adds up. Check whether your bank offers this service, as sometimes you will need to sign up in order to benefit from these services. Some banks also offer cash back for paying your monthly bills, such as Sky or British Gas.

Receipts

There are also some apps, such as Receipt Hog, where you can upload your receipts from your shopping to gain cashback. This includes supermarket receipts, and high street retailers such as boots, Mcdonalds, Spar and even Ikea, so make sure you don’t chuck your receipts out when you come home. Once your receipt is uploaded, you can exchange your earnings and receive by paypal, amazon vouchers or high street vouchers.

Other Online Apps

A similar app, Shoppix, will give you ‘tokens’ for your receipts, which you can then exchange into vouchers. Shoppix also has other ways you can earn on their app, by filling in surveys and playing ‘scratch and win’. Again, if you are into surveys, there are plenty of sites such as ‘survey spotter’, where you can earn small amounts for filling in surveys.

By retraining the way you shop, and taking a few minutes out your day, you could soon find the money rolling in. You may only make a few pounds here and there, but with all these methods combined, you’ll be surprised how much you can accumulate within a year, which could be the perfect excuse for another shopping trip!
