With the country still in a weird limbo like state, some schools and jobs still off; we look into 5 cheap and cheerful ways to beat boredom from our lives!

Knitting
Despite knitting being a hobby you have in common with your gran, knitwear has been back in fashion for a while. So why not create a new winter wardrobe and keep your hands busy at the same time? With free knitting patterns available on sites such as lovecraft, and wool and needles easy to pick up, why not unleash the designer in you and get creative? Who knows, you could even sell some its and make some extra money on the side!
Learn a New Language
After being trapped inside for the last 100 days, many of us have been planning our next wild adventure in the big outdoors. With so many possibilities opening up, why not travel the world?! With apps such as Duolingo, you can learn a new language at your own pace for free. This not only make travel easier, but could also open the door to new job opportunities!
Take a Course
If knitting or learning Spanish isn’t for you – then have a think: What is? Many of you are finding lots of spare time on your hands; whether you have been furloughed, made redundant, or just because you have! Why not take some time out to invest in yourself and learn a new skill or trade? From the Open University to Udemy, there are literally thousands of courses available for you to learn online – some free, some not – and you may be entitled to help with funding. With the average person working well over half their life – why not do something you enjoy?!
Learn to Cook
Cooking isn’t just a way to a man’s heart – it’s so much more! A seriously great life skill, as well as a way to relax, cooking is in the heart of us all, regardless of age, sex, or religion; everyone can appreciate a good home cooked meal. Also a great way to save money, make new friends and keep healthy, why not try to become the next Gordan Ramsey (although perhaps with a few less swearwords?!). Try baking a batch of cookies next time you have a social gathering; you’ll be loved and adored for years to come.
Get Fit
The best free therapy we could all do with a little bit more of – exercise! Great for physical and mental stimulation, it also helps with depression and anxiety, as well as a host of other issues caused by being overweight. Plus, it gives you amazing self-confidence, helps you feel in control of your life, and if you manage to lose enough weight can be a great excuse for a whole new wardrobe! And the best part is, you don’t have to spend a penny to get started! So crank the music up and get moving!
