Where to Browse When Your Old Laptop Goes To Heaven

I think I have typed my poor laptop to death. Is that even a thing? I’m not sure, but if it is, then that is what I’ve done.

This meant laptop shopping. Which is actually a lot harder than it looks!

But as a girl who loves to shop online, I thought I’d share a few places to browse if you’re thinking of buying a new laptop!

Curries PC World

This is probably the main shop you’d start at to look for laptops. Their online service is pretty great. A clear filter option with several options to narrow down by; in fact the best filters from all the online shops I came across. They also have (for tech newbs like me) a great feature where you can have them ‘call you’ – it is essentially a one-way video call. This was great for me – I’m not a huge fan of text chat, and this way – its much quicker, and thorough. All the advisors I spoke to were super friendly and helpful.

AO

A great second to Curries PC World, and actually where I brought my laptop. Their choice wasn’t quite as vast, but I had a certain set of criteria I wanted, and for me they had the best laptop, with the best reviews, for the best price. Their customer service was OK, although there was no chat option, and they do advise you are welcome to call but they have extremely high waiting times. I also got a sales call within the hour trying to sell me laptop insurance. A fairly good idea, and the guy was lovely. My laptop is yet to be set up (a job for the weekend) but I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

Argos

The go to shop for anything and everything, from cutlery to laundry baskets, they also have a fairly decent array of laptops. In fact, one of the lovely guys at Curries PC World said it was his job to monitor prices and availability, and Argos was their main competitor. Argos may not be your first choice, but another worthy competitor if you want to shop about.

Laptops Direct

An online store with a pretty great selection of both new, and used laptops. They offer student deals, free delivery, and its not just laptops – PCs, monitors, tablets, components & storage, accessories, software, phones, televisions… Chances are, if you need at least one of the above, you will find it on this site!

HP

As I have a love for HP Laptops, I thought it only fair to show them some love in this list. They also have the one way video chat like Curries PC World, and again are super helpful and knowledgeable. They also have a great selection of low – high range products, and free delivery on anything over £25. If you’re a fan of HP, this is a good place to start!
